The six

Three we own. Three we sell.

The core is the work that belongs to us: the personas, the stories, the products. The shell is the work we do for you. They are the same six disciplines, and they only make sense together.

The chain

Sketch to shelf, without a handover.

Most projects die in the gaps between suppliers. There are no gaps here, because it is one team carrying the whole chain, and we have walked it ourselves on our own products.

George Makaronidis, the person behind Signmak

Mak, signed. Not a company name I picked. It is what goes at the bottom of a drawing when the drawing is finished and I will stand behind it.

I do not have a specialism. I have a chain.

An idea arrives, and it goes through research, concept, design, prototype, the system that makes it repeatable, the site that sells it, the automation that runs it, and the promotion that finds it a buyer. Most suppliers own one link of that and hand you back to the market for the rest. I have spent twenty five years collecting all of them.

It started in industrial design in 2001. Products, moulds, aluminium systems, furniture, lighting, display. Then the tools kept changing and I kept going. Visualisation when 3D stopped being a luxury. 3D printing when a file became a product you could sell without a factory. Concrete when I wanted to cast my own. 360 and virtual tours when a space became something you could publish and rank. Software when the tool I needed did not exist yet. AI when it became a production team I could direct.

None of it replaced the last thing, and that is the part people miss. I still think like someone who has to get an object out of a mould, which is exactly why the sites convert and the tours earn: I know what happens downstream, because I have stood there.

What you are actually buying is the judgement in between. Knowing which of those disciplines a problem needs, in what order, and which four it does not. I take something that does not exist yet and carry it to a thing you can hold, walk through, or buy. I direct it. I do not hand it over.

Workforce

Ten roles a project like this normally needs from ten people. Every bar is one person, and it is the same person. Twenty five years of adding one more thing to the list, and never dropping the last one.

  • Industrial design 2001
  • Signage and display 2001
  • Product development 2001
  • 3D and visualisation 2003
  • 3D printing 2011
  • Web and software 2020
  • 360 and virtual tours 2022
  • Tour development 2023
  • AI direction 2023
  • Publishing 2026
Each bar starts the year it started and has not stopped since.
