Questions
What is Signmak?
An independent creative, technology and venture group founded by George Makaronidis, working across six disciplines: AI, Originals, Ventures, Digital, Immersive, Design. Three of them are work that belongs to us and three are work we do for you.
Is Signmak a company or one person?
One person. George Makaronidis, an industrial designer in Greece. The site says it plainly: ten roles a project like this normally needs from ten people, and it is the same person. He directs the work rather than handing it over.
What is the difference between the core and the shell?
The core is what Signmak owns outright: AI, Originals, Ventures. The personas, the stories and the products. The shell is the work done for a client: Digital, Immersive, Design. They are the same six disciplines and they only make sense together.
How long has Signmak been working?
Since 2001, starting in industrial design: products, moulds, aluminium systems, furniture, lighting and display. Each discipline was added on top of the last and none replaced it, which is why the list runs to ten and every one of them is still live.
What is “the chain”?
The six steps a thing goes through from not existing to being bought: idea, design, prototype, product, store, sales. Most projects die in the gaps between suppliers who each own one link. Here it is one team carrying the whole chain, walked on Signmak’s own products first.
Can I hire just one discipline?
Yes, and working out which ones you do not need is part of the job. In George’s own words on the site, what you are buying is knowing which of those disciplines a problem needs, in what order, and which four it does not.
Where is Signmak based, and does it work outside Greece?
Based in Greece, working worldwide, in Greek and English.
What proof is there that any of this works?
Public numbers rather than case studies written afterwards, and every one can be checked. 17.5M Google Maps photo views. 115K search impressions in three months. 325+ spaces captured, across hotels, museums, clinics, factories and retail. The tours rank for the destination rather than the pitch: top five for Porto Katsiki and Kathisma.
What does a project cost?
There is no price list on this site, because the six disciplines are quoted against the work rather than off a shelf. The way to a number is the four questions at the bottom of the home page: describe what you have and you get the route back.
How do I start?
Answer four questions, about thirty seconds, at the bottom of the home page. You get your chain back: the route from what you have now to the thing people can buy, walk through or read.
What happens to my email address?
It is used to send that one reply and nothing else. It is not sold, not shared and not added to any list. This site also makes zero third-party requests: the fonts are self-hosted and there is no analytics service. See Privacy.
Which other sites are Signmak’s?
360photographers.gr for 360 tours and Street View, my360place.com for AI 360 environments, readnobox.com for the book, and betonven.com for the concrete work. navalhistory.gr is not one of them; it is where George writes, and it belongs to somebody else.
